Air quality test kit
Beschreibung
The air quality test kit consists of two Petri dishes with aseptic culture medium that allows you to form an image of the air quality in your living spaces. With the test kit you can demonstrate the operation of the LightAir air purifier by placing one dish in an uncleaned space of your home and the other in the cleaned space after the LightAir has been on for approximately 6 hours.
Note: The air quality test kit has a limited shelf life. The expiration date is printed on the side of the dish. Store the test kit in a cool place and use the test kit as soon as possible after receiving it.
[block=Description]Air quality testing
With the Habitat Solutions air quality test kit you can make the presence of bacteria and fungi in your living spaces visible. With this test kit you can clearly visualize the effect of using an air purifier on the quality of the air you breathe. By exposing the contents of the Petri dish (special aseptic culture medium) to the air for approx. 1 hour, the micro-organisms get the chance to develop in the dish.
Please note: the air quality test kit can never replace a complete air test because it does not show all possible contaminants (such as particulate matter). The test kits are mainly intended to demonstrate the operation of the LightAir air purifier by comparing a cleaned and a non-cleaned space.
Using the test kit to demonstrate the operation of the LightAir air purifier
Test the air quality before you turn on the LightAir air purifier for the first time and after you have turned on the LightAir air purifier for about 6 hours. In the first 3 hours that the LightAir is turned on, about 80% of all airborne molds, viruses, yeasts and bacteria are removed. You will see that the growth of bacteria (white spots on the nutrient medium) and molds (green/brown spots on the nutrient medium) will be significantly less or even completely absent for the nutrient medium exposed to the cleaned air, while the nutrient medium exposed to the "dirty" air will show the opposite.
With normal use of the LightAir air purifier, it is on continuously and the air will therefore be free or almost free of bacteria, fungi and viruses.
[block=Instructions for use]Air Quality Test Kit Instructions for Use
It is important to choose a uniform method to be able to compare the results well. So expose both dishes to the air for the same amount of time and put them away for the same amount of time.
We recommend placing the dish opened in the room to be tested for approximately 1 hour. Longer is also allowed, shorter is not preferred. Then place the dish in a dry, completely dark room, at least at room temperature or higher (for example in a cupboard that does not need to be opened often) and leave the dish there untouched for approximately 5 days. After this you can view the result, shiny white spots are bacteria, shiny yellow to red spots are yeasts, fluffy white to black spots are molds.
Unopened, unused bowls should be stored sealed, cool and dark. Make sure you use the bowls before the expiration date stated on the bottom.

Below you see two Petri dishes. Both dishes were exposed to ambient air in the same bedroom for one hour. After this hour, both dishes were put away in a dark cupboard at ambient temperature for a week. The dish on the left, which was exposed to unpurified air, shows clear growth of bacteria and fungi. The dish on the right, which was also exposed to air that had already been purified for three hours, shows hardly any growth of bacteria and fungi. Clear proof that the air purified with the LightAir ionization air purifier is virtually free of fungi and bacteria after three hours, which is a solution for use with asthma patients, nursing homes, etc.
